This is a personal post from me, reaching out to my professional network and contacts to help support a charity that truly needs it. Some causes become personal, and this is one of them.

I have attached a picture of my beautiful daughter holding my hand for the very first time. It shows just how early she was when she came into the world. She was born at just 26 weeks and 3 days, weighing only 805 grams. Looking back at that moment reminds me how fragile those early days were, and how far she has come.

We would not be where we are today without the amazing NICU team at Leicester Royal Infirmary, and the even more incredible team at ADAPT. They helped us not only through the medical journey, but also with all the “normal” things you do not even think about when having a baby for the first time. Their support during those difficult days, and for years since, has meant more than words can express.

Myself and my network group, Fosse Business Club, are proud to be supporting ADAPT – a charity incredibly close to my heart. In 2023, when our beautiful baby girl was born, ADAPT supported me and my family during one of the most emotional and challenging times of our lives. Since then, they have continued to be a fantastic support network for us, and for so many other families facing similar journeys.

ADAPT (All Dependent And Pre Term) was founded by Fiona and Rob Morris after their own son Harry was born at just 29 weeks and spent nine months in neonatal care. From their own experience of fear, uncertainty and isolation, they created a charity so that no family would ever have to go through that journey alone.

Every year in Leicestershire, around 1 in 13 babies need neonatal care. ADAPT provides vital emotional, practical and financial support to families whose worlds have been turned upside down overnight. From therapy and counselling, to travel costs, food, essentials, and simply being there when families need someone most – their impact is life changing.

Despite the incredible work they do, ADAPT receives no government or NHS funding and relies entirely on fundraising and community support to continue helping families every single day.

They supported us when we needed them most, and now it is our time to give back and help this amazing charity continue supporting other families. That is why Fosse Business Club and I are committed to raising awareness and funds for ADAPT.

If you can support in any way – through donations, fundraising ideas, sponsorship, or simply sharing their story – it would mean so much. Together we can help ensure no family has to face the neonatal journey alone.
